FAQ

What is a healthy BMI?
A BMI between 18.5 and 24.9 is considered normal weight for adults. Below 18.5 is underweight; 25–29.9 is overweight; 30 and above is classified as obese.
Is BMI accurate for everyone?
BMI is a general screening tool and does not account for muscle mass, bone density, age, sex, or ethnicity. Athletes and older adults may get misleading results. Consult a healthcare professional for a full assessment.
How is BMI calculated?
BMI = weight(kg) ÷ height(m)². For imperial units, BMI = (weight(lbs) ÷ height(in)²) × 703.
Why does my result look different from other calculators?
Minor rounding differences may occur. Our formula follows the standard WHO definition rounded to one decimal place.
